The Prozac Prophecy

Prozac Prophecy

One step into the room and you draw everybody’s eye
You are the queen of every night, a starlet in the evening sky
There’s not a man who can resist you, not a door that remains closed
Many a man would kill to please you, just for a night, to be your host

Black mirror connects a cruel idolatry
Painted masks suggesting perfect symmetry
A shrine to perfection in this New Media age
No place for opinions if it’s your public page

Look into the mirror
You know that you are the One
Above all you have been chosen
To be more than anyone
You are unbreakable, you are exceptional
Just like the others, just like the others
You are untouchable, you are original
— just like eight billion others

So pop another pill
Go for another thrill
The world will always forgive you if you smile

Just lash out at the world
Don’t care if someone’s hurt
Someone will always protect you if you cry

Under the ebony skin lie coke-infected veins
A Prozac-promise in nauseated brains
A thousand likes will pave your way to happiness
Isolation of circuits surrounding your last essence

A dance on neon-light floors gives way to unopened doors
A mind that’s turned on itself, a pickled brain on a shelf
You’re on a borderline run, you fly too close to the sun
But no pill will save you from the fall…

Look into the mirror
You know that you are the One
Above all you have been chosen
To be more than anyone
You are unbreakable, you are exceptional
Just like the others, just like the others
You are untouchable, you are original
— just like eight billion others

So pop another pill
Go for another thrill
The world will always forgive you if you smile

Just lash out at the world
Don’t care if someone’s hurt
Someone will always protect you if you cry
