Because today is Bart’s birthday.
Ok, so there we were, Diana, Götz and me, driving to Ghent, this really beautiful city in Belgium. We were going to visit the light festival there that took place the last weekend of January 2012. They have all kinds of different awesome light installations and projections in- and outdoors spread all over the city – it’s really incredibly beautiful and stunning!
So anyways, we were couch surfing, and Diana had organized for the three of us to stay for three nights with these three Belgium guys in their rented house. They were really nice and welcoming and we spent a great couple of days together. Especially Bart, the one who had put up the couch surfing offer, showed us around the city a lot.
Well, but what Bart hadn’t told Diana beforehand was that they were moving to another house with pretty much everything they owned on the day between the second and third night that we were staying! So of course we helped them a bit to move and we actually moved the big extendable couch bed the three of us were sleeping on. So in three nights, we were sleeping in two different houses on one couch. Well, to be precise, on the third night only two of us were sleeping on the couch – and that’s what this song is about!
